How it works
Any connector your users sign into with an account, like Google, Microsoft, Slack, Salesforce, or HubSpot, can now be set up as an app user connector. Instead of syncing with your data, the connection belongs to each person using your published app.
You set it up once, for your whole workspace. First, register an app with the platform you're connecting to. That registration is what authorizes you to handle data on your users' behalf. Building for your own team? Most platforms skip the review for apps used only inside your organization. If you're publishing to a wider audience, each platform runs its own approval: some grant it instantly, and the ones guarding the most sensitive data, like email, review it first. Once that's done, add the client ID and secret to your workspace, and link it to any app that should use it.
From there, you build like you always do. Describe what the app should do with the connected data, and Lovable handles the sign-in flow, the tokens, and the refresh cycle.
Protecting your users' data
Your users never share their passwords with you, and you never store their credentials. Each person signs in through the tool's own login and grants access themselves. Lovable's connector gateway briefly holds their credentials and attaches them to each request. Those credentials never reach your app or the browser.
Lovable isn't creating a new permissions system for you to manage. It reads the permissions your users already have, in Google Workspace, HubSpot, Snowflake, or whatever the app connects to, and carries them straight through. If someone can already see a record, they see it in the app. If they can't, they don't. The app acts as them, based on the permissions they authorized.
