prototypes very fast 0:13 but they have two very big problems 0:16 number one is that they are just not as 0:18 powerful as the tools that developers 0:21 use to code with AI and number two is 0:23 that they're very expensive and this is 0:25 what this video is about because if you 0:27 want to get into AI coding but you don't 0:30 don't want to go broke in the process 0:31 then keep watching hi my name is Rob and 0:34 I've been a developer for over 20 years 0:36 and just in the last two weeks I have 0:38 built two tools number one completely 0:41 with AI right number one is social hacks 0:44 doapp which I just that was the first AI 0:47 project I built and it's I've built it 0:49 with one of the tools that I'm going to 0:50 show you in this video is a full sias 0:53 that you can use to just paste any 0:56 Instagram YouTube or Tik Tok video and 0:58 it will convert it into text which can 1:01 be useful if you're a content creator 1:02 and you want to like use viral content 1:04 and redo it yourself and then the next 1:07 one is macro puls which is a website 1:09 that you know I I got very tired of 1:12 reading financial news it's very click 1:13 baity and whatever so I build a website 1:16 that teaches you about finance and the 1:18 economy based on Ma Market data and what 1:21 is happening today without all the 1:23 clickbait and depressing news but I 1:25 could not have built those tools with 1:28 lovable bold repet or 1:31 v0 and even if I could have it would 1:34 have cost me a fortune so that brings us 1:37 to pricing the pricing is a real issue 1:40 so right now lovable is probably the 1:42 most popular among you know no code 1:46 tools they even have a free plan so you 1:48 get like five daily messages per day and 1:51 I'm going to explain to you what that 1:52 means in a second and their sta plan 1:56 costs $20 a month which sounds great but 2:00 that just means that you get 100 2:02 messages per month and again I'm going 2:05 to explain to you what that means in a 2:06 second then if you go to bold you get 10 2:10 million tokens for the same price but if 2:12 you're not into AI what does 10 million 2:14 tokens even mean not going to explain it 2:16 in this video but it's just very 2:18 confusing if you're like a beginner 2:19 right but it can get worse because repet 2:22 which is really cool they have a great 2:25 like app that allows you to code on your 2:27 phone instead of like on your like desk 2:29 or whatever 2:30 which is really cool but it's $25 a 2:33 month if you want to do it monthly if 2:35 you do it yearly you can also pay 20 but 2:37 $25 per month is that that's a bit much 2:40 I'm not going to lie and the way that 2:42 they say is like okay you get like $25 2:44 worth of monthly credits which is 2:45 approximate 100 agent checkpoints that 2:48 means nothing to most people right and 2:51 then the most confusing is v0 by versal 2:54 I love versal I use it all the time but 2:57 their free plan amazing doesn't tell you 3:00 how many messages you can send and then 3:02 the premium also $20 a month says that 3:05 you can send 20 to 20 10 to 20 times 3:08 more messages than in free but how many 3:10 is 3:11 that I tried looking anywhere on the 3:13 website I couldn't find it super weird 3:16 but what really is a message on lovable 3:19 well that's the thing that's why people 3:20 like lovable so much because the pricing 3:22 is so clear even though it's not great 3:26 if you don't know what you're doing 3:27 because this is the chat box right this 3:30 is the place where you request something 3:33 from the AI and because the plan costs 3:37 $2 a month and you get a 100 messages 3:40 that makes every time you send a message 3:43 in this box 20 cents which is kind of 3:46 wild right and that message could be 3:49 something like I prepared like a little 3:51 prompt let me let me do it that message 3:55 could be something like this build a 3:56 modern mobile first website for a daily 3:58 habit tracker app let's say you're 4:00 making an app or whatever right it 4:02 should have five sections a hero with a 4:04 headline like this and then some like 4:06 images here and there and a final call 4:08 to action at the end there should be a 4:10 download button yada y y yada right make 4:12 it like clean fast conversion focused 4:15 use for the copy use expert copywriting 4:18 techniques proven methods you get it 4:21 like a big prompt you send this to 4:24 lovable it will create a website for you 4:27 that uh you couldn't have done yourself 4:28 if you're not a coder right right so 4:30 this is really good and sending that 4:32 message will cost you 20 cents but you 4:35 know what will also cost you 20 cents 4:37 make the download button blue so if you 4:41 said this message it will also cost you 4:43 the equivalent of 20 cents and so that 4:47 means with lovable you really need to 4:49 pay attention of how much you've write 4:53 into this chat box into your prompts 4:55 right the ideal is that you do very 4:58 descriptive maybe you Chad GPT or 5:00 whatever to write great prompts that 5:03 then you give to lovable right so that 5:07 can be good if you make real use of it 5:09 but most people won't and they're going 5:11 to like waste a lot of messages so this 5:14 is becoming very expensive right and 5:17 just to give you an idea the apps that I 5:19 have built like social hacks and macro 5:22 puls they would have cost a few hundred 5:25 messages each so it's not easy to build 5:29 comprehensive nice apps a little website 5:32 sure you can do that but if you want to 5:33 build apps that do something that 5:35 integrate with other things do some AI 5:38 stuff or whatever right the really cool 5:41 stuff that people would buy from you 5:43 maybe pay a membership for this is going 5:45 to be very hard to do in these apps and 5:48 this is where apps like cursor are 5:50 different these are significantly more 5:54 intimidating if you will because they 5:56 are designed for developers and not not 5:58 for the no no code crowd so when you 6:01 look at this you're like oh I'm not a 6:03 developer but I ask you to bear with me 6:05 because using them is way easier than 6:07 you think and not only that but they're 6:09 also significantly cheaper so cursor 6:12 only charges $20 a month and they give 6:16 you 500 what they call fast premium 6:19 requests per month for all intents and 6:22 purposes one request equals one message 6:25 on cursor there are ways to spend more 6:27 but the vast majority of people 6:29 including myself use one request for one 6:32 message and it doesn't end there because 6:34 that means fast premium request right 6:38 they also and that is so unsustainable I 6:40 don't know how they do it and they will 6:41 not do it forever but they do it right 6:43 now they give you unlimited slow premium 6:46 request but then on top of that when you 6:48 reach this you can continue to ask the 6:51 AI the AI things but it will slow you 6:54 down so it will take like you know 5 10 6:57 seconds or so to like answer every query 7:00 so this can be very frustrating but the 7:02 point is it's free and included in your 7:04 plan and then there is also Winder which 7:08 is cursor's biggest competitors no doubt 7:10 about it so I actually started with 7:12 cursor and then I used the free trial 7:15 and I was like wow that's pretty cool 7:16 and then I saw people talking about 7:18 winds surf which is cursor's biggest 7:21 competitor and to be honest this did 7:25 significantly better than cursa in a lot 7:28 of things but but they messed up their 7:31 pricing good so you think wow okay 7:33 that's also like 500 premium models for 7:36 like these names they are like they're 7:39 so dumb it's like 500 premium model user 7:42 prompt credit who says something like 7:44 that see that's why lovable is 7:45 successful because they say messages 7:48 done and you think okay $15 per month 7:51 for $500 so it's $5 cheaper than cursa 7:54 no because they had this genius idea to 7:57 introduce flow action credits switch 8:00 when you go to cursor and you ask it 8:02 something it will just take one credit 8:04 and it does everything that you want 8:07 when you do it with wind serve it will 8:10 charge you one user prompt for the 8:12 actual request and then one flow action 8:15 credit for everything that the editor 8:18 actually does so if you say build me a 8:20 website it might cost you like 50 flow 8:22 credits instead of one credit at cursor 8:25 if it wasn't for this I would 8:27 unconditionally recommend you us wind 8:29 surf instead of cursor Unfortunately 8:32 they don't so cursor is the way to go 8:35 but now you might think wow cursor that 8:37 looks like a real development tool I'm 8:39 not a developer I just want to okay look 8:41 at it we're going to take a look and 8:43 after this you're going to download this 8:45 thing and you're going to thank me this 8:46 is what kza looks like with a fully 8:48 loaded project this is macropulse the 8:51 tool that I showed you earlier that 8:53 educates your own finance and economy 8:56 and this is how it looks like when you 8:57 actually use it again this can be super 8:59 intimidating but bear with me because 9:01 when you start it for the first time let 9:04 me where is it close folder you can say 9:08 open project so that's how cursor looks 9:11 like when you started for the first time 9:12 then you say open project I'm going to 9:15 go here and then just say uh website 9:20 test for YouTube so you just create a 9:22 folder then go into this folder and say 9:25 open now you're in a fresh project for 9:29 cursor this is not much different than 9:33 lovable with the exception that you pay 9:35 4 cents instead of 20 cents every time 9:38 you send a message in this little editor 9:40 here right so let's do that I created a 9:43 little 9:45 prompt let's run it right so build a 9:47 modern mobile first website for the copy 9:50 blah blah blah so the thing that I 9:53 highly recommend that you do because if 9:54 you're not a developer there are some 9:56 tools that these AIS would want to use 10:00 and install but because you're not a 10:02 developer you need to tell it not to do 10:05 that that is something that you have to 10:07 do once whenever you start talking to it 10:09 you have to do it again but it saves you 10:12 a lot of money so this is the critical 10:14 part right here use only static HTML CSS 10:18 and JavaScript you know what you don't 10:19 need to you don't need to remember this 10:20 you don't need to understand this in 10:22 fact I'm going to put this whole prompt 10:24 in the description down below so you can 10:26 like copy it and try it for yourself but 10:28 it basically just tell tell it do not 10:29 install any packages do whoops do not 10:33 use typescript you don't need to 10:34 understand any of this keep it as simple 10:36 as possible I'm not a coder I HTML in your web browser to view 12:02 the website locally I have to go to the 12:07 folder where we where we that we opened 12:11 in cursor and just click on the wow okay 12:16 and click on the 12:17 index.html and that is what it 12:20 created wow there are some actual images 12:23 that it created that's pretty uh that's 12:25 pretty wow micro 12:27 animations okay 12:30 that's cool that's a that's a good start 12:33 but here's the beauty about AI right now 12:37 I would say you know what let's make 12:39 this let's make this all a little bit uh 12:43 smaller so that we can see the website 12:46 while we code on it right let's say add 12:49 a navigation bar at the top that Scrolls 12:55 to the individual sections 12:59 make the download button at the end more 13:07 visible by or we can simplify this make 13:10 the at the end uh at the end white with 13:15 black text for increased 13:19 contrast then I don't like how all the 13:22 images are on the left side so we can 13:25 just say uh flip the the unlock your 13:31 full 13:33 potential around image right text left 13:41 what else 13:43 um yeah let's let's let's do that we 13:46 send the message again and now it will 13:48 do these changes for you just like 13:51 lovable 13:56 W that is a website guys that is a 13:58 website that cost us this was two 14:01 messages this website cost us the 14:04 equivalent of 14:05 $8 14:07 $8 that's crazy it would have cost you 14:10 40 cents on 40 cents 40 cents on lovable 14:15 and it's responsive right so now you see 14:18 what it would look like if it was on 14:20 your phone this menu doesn't work oh 14:23 it's still 14:25 working okay now it's working wow even a 14:28 nice animation up here 14:31 too when you click on it cool it Scrolls 14:35 there okay that button is a bit ugly but 14:38 the animation is a bit broken but you 14:40 get it you can just continue to iterate 14:43 for 4 cents per message for 500 messages 14:47 a month so this is cursor I hope that 14:49 you give it a try plus if you want to 14:51 build apps like the ones that I showed 14:53 you earlier like Macro puls for example 14:56 you will need to use something like 14:59 cursor and if you want to learn how to 15:00 use these tools and trust me it is way 15:03 easier than you think then I have a 15:05 video for you right here
