Over the coming days, we're rolling out an update to how billing works on Lovable. Your plan price isn't changing. The cost of credits, your daily free credits for building, the rate of credit consumption, and the way credits expire aren't changing either.
This update is about making your credits clearer to track and simpler to use.
Our community comes to Lovable to build real websites, apps, and software. When we launched Lovable Cloud and AI last year, we billed them separately from the core build experience. Your monthly subscription powered building, while hosting and running your app in production was paid for separately. This matched how many of our customers were used to buying software, and was the simplest option at the time.
But how people build with Lovable has changed. Klar powers its AI study agent for 6,000+ students; WeGlow has raised over €1M for 100+ nonprofits; PictoGPT helps nonverbal kids communicate with the world around them. These are real production apps, with databases, file storage, server functions, and AI calls.
Two clear pieces of feedback have emerged from our community on billing. First, people want more transparency into their spend across building and running their apps. As Lovable workspaces, and the projects built within them, grow more complex, it matters more than ever to see where credits are going and find ways to control spend. Second, the line between building an app and running it has blurred, and forcing our customers to think of them as two separate activities with separate billing structures has become more work than it should be.
So we're making two changes:
An updated billing dashboard, with deeper visibility into where your credits go
A single balance of credits that can be used across building and running your apps

We've rebuilt the billing page, now called Plans & credit usage, so you can see exactly where your spend is going: which member, which project, and whether credits went to building or to running your apps, across Cloud and AI. You can even see which AI models your apps are using and how many credits are consumed by each.
One balance for everything you build and run
Until now, Lovable workspaces carried two balances: build credits for developing your app, and a separate Cloud and AI balance for everything that happens once it's live (databases, authentication, file storage, server functions, and AI calls). We're simplifying our billing structure with a single balance of credits that can be used across building and running your apps.
As your workspace moves over, we'll convert any purchased Cloud and AI balance into Lovable credits at your plan's credit price, added to your balance. The cost of all Lovable services stays the same.
Your free credits
Every plan comes with free credits each month, on top of the credits included in your plan. All subscribers still get 5 free credits a day for building — that's not changing.
We're adjusting the free Cloud and AI credits, which used to be set in dollars. Every Free, Pro, and Business workspace now gets 20 credits a month to use on Cloud services. Free plans also get 4 credits a month to use on AI services — AI functionality powering your live apps — so new users can experience the full power of Lovable without hitting a paywall.
What's staying the same
Your plan price isn't changing. The cost of credits, your daily free credits for building, the rate of credit consumption, and the way credits expire aren't changing either. The cost of Cloud and AI services remains the same as before. Your projects, and everything you've already built, are untouched.
Getting started
No action is needed.
Over the coming days, we're migrating workspaces onto the new credit system. You'll see any purchased Cloud and AI balance converted to credits — added to your balance and logged in your credit history — on the Plans & credit usage page. If your account hasn't moved yet, nothing's wrong: your current balances keep working as before until it does. The full mechanics of the updated credit system are in the Help Center.
