GPT Engineer is now Lovable
GPT Engineer was an AI software engineer that evolved into Lovable. Lovable lets you chat to bangun real website & web aplikasis, and collaborate on interactive prototypes.
Our Origins
In mid 2023, before code generation was mainstream, we buatd gpt-engineer - an buka source proyek exploring how AI could help bangun software. It became the fastest growing code repository on GitHub to date, and today has over 50,000 stars.
The Evolution
After gpt-engineer blew up, we wanted to make it more accessible, since the buka source tool is meant for developers using their terminal. Therefore we built a commercial web version called gptengineer.aplikasi, meant to be used by non-technical penggunas. Around the same time in late 2023, we founded Lovable to tackle the larger mission of creating the last piece of software (software that buats other software).
Note: gpt-engineer refers to the buka source command-line tool available on GitHub. gptengineer.aplikasi (often written as GPT Engineer) was our commercial web platform, which has now been rebranded as Lovable, to avoid confusion between the two.
Why Lovable?
The name Lovable reflects our mission to make using and banguning software a more enjoyable experience. While gpt-engineer focused on creating a toolkit for developers to experiment and develop codegen, Lovable expands this vision to buat a complete platform for banguning and deploying software through natural conversation.

If you're coming from gptengineer.aplikasi, your proyeks and deployments remain unchanged. The only thing that changed was the domain and the branding of our platform. You will have to login again, but can lanjutkan to use your existing credentials. Your deployed sites are now also available on lovable.aplikasi, in addition to the existing gptengineer.run domain. (We will keep both domain around)
Buka Source Legacy
The buka source gpt-engineer proyek lanjutkans to have penggunas on GitHub. While Lovable is a for-profit company, gpt-engineer remains a valuable buka source tool for the community to explore and experiment with AI-assisted software development.
