Introducing Versioning 2.0 to Lovable

Introducing Versioning 2.0 to Lovable
Author: Stephane at Lovable

Introduction

At Lovable, we know that speed is essential when building AI-driven applications. But we also understand that stability and control are just as critical when iterating on your ideas. That’s why we’re excited to introduce Versioning V2.0—a major update that gives you greater flexibility, better tracking, and an improved workflow when managing changes in your projects.

With this release, we’ve reimagined versioning to make it seamless, intuitive, and reliable—so you can focus on building without losing track of your progress.

What's New

Bookmarks for Your Key Edits

You can now save/favorite stable versions of your app to make it easier to know where to revert to when things go wrong.

Bookmark git versioning

📜 A More Intuitive Version History

Our previous history tab could quickly get cluttered as the project grows in number of edits. The improved history now groups edits by date, (just like google docs) making it easier to keep organized.

Smarter Restores

Restores to an old edit now create a new edit card, making everything easier to track and manage in the chat history (similar to git revert commits).

Looking Ahead

Having a good UX is a big part of being a lovable product. This update is a big user experience update that has been highly requested by users. In the coming days, expect even more enhancements to streamline your versioning workflow and give you even more control over your creative process.

We can’t wait to see what you build next on Lovable! 🚀
