Required Elements of a Takedown Notice

To be valid under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include all of the following in the given order:

  1. Your signature - A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work - A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If multiple works are covered by a single notice, a representative list is acceptable.

  4. Your contact information - Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  5. Good faith statement - A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. Accuracy statement - A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the copyright owner's behalf.

Warning: Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be subject to liability for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees.

How to Submit

Email your complete notice to dmca@lovable.dev. We process notices received at that address only. Notices sent elsewhere may not be reviewed promptly.

What Happens After You Submit a Notice

  1. We will review your notice for completeness. If information is missing, we will contact you.
  2. If the notice is complete, we will act expeditiously to disable access to the identified content.
  3. We will notify the user who created the content that their project has been taken down and explain their right to file a counter-notification.
  4. We will confirm our action to you.

Counter-Notification (Disputing a Takedown)

If you are a Lovable user whose project was taken down and you believe the takedown was made in error - for example, because you have the right to use the content or the material was misidentified - you may submit a counter-notification.

Required Elements of a Counter-Notification

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3), your counter-notification must include:

  1. Your signature - Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the removed material - The URL of the Lovable project that was taken down.
  3. Good faith statement - A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your contact information - Your name, mailing address, and telephone number.
  5. Consent to jurisdiction - A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of a federal court. If you are in the United States, this is the federal district court for your location. If you are outside the United States, you may consent to any judicial district in the US.
  6. Consent to service of process - A statement that you will accept service of legal process from the person who filed the original takedown notice.

Warning: Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material was removed by mistake or misidentification may be subject to liability for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees.

How to Submit a Counter-Notification

Email your counter-notification to dmca@lovable.dev.

What Happens After You Submit a Counter-Notification

  1. We will review your counter-notification for completeness.
  2. If complete, we will forward it to the original complainant.
  3. If the complainant does not notify us within 10-14 business days that they have filed a court action to restrain the alleged infringement, we will restore your project.
  4. If the complainant files a court action, we will keep the content offline and you will need to resolve the matter directly with the complainant.

Repeat Infringer Policy

In accordance with the DMCA and our Terms of Service, Lovable will terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
