How do I prevent accidentally deleting a project?
Be careful with the delete option—Lovable asks for confirmation before deletion. For critical projects, connect GitHub to maintain an external copy of your code. This way, even if a project is deleted, your code is safe.
I accidentally deleted my project. Can it be recovered?
Unfortunately, deleted projects are generally permanent and cannot be recovered. To protect your work going forward, use GitHub integration to keep an external backup of your code.
Project not found
If a project vanished, check your project list to confirm it's not there. Projects may be archived if not accessed recently. Use the "View History" button to see past versions or search your chat history for project references. If still missing, contact [email protected] with the project name and creation date. For account security, enable two-factor authentication.
Can I recover a deleted project?
Deleted projects are permanently removed and generally cannot be recovered. To prevent accidental loss, we recommend exporting your code via GitHub before making major changes.
I see 'Project not found' when I try to open my project.
This error can mean the project was deleted, or the URL is incorrect. Check your dashboard for the project. If it's not listed, it may have been removed. Contact support with the project name or ID for investigation.
My project disappeared after I changed accounts.
Your project is likely still on your original account. Log back into that account to check. Projects don't automatically transfer between accounts—contact support if you need to move a project.
Why can't I find my project on the dashboard?
Check that you're logged into the correct account—if you have multiple accounts, the project may be on a different one. Scroll through your full project list and try searching by name. If you recently deleted it, it may not be recoverable. Contact support if you need help.
