Add a custom domain

Custom domains require a paid plan. Choose automatic setup (select DNS provider, authorize) or manual (add A record pointing to Lovable's IP). SSL/TLS is automatic via Let's Encrypt. DNS propagation takes up to 72 hours, usually faster.

Can I connect a domain used by another project?

No, each domain can only be connected to one Lovable project at a time. If a domain is already in use, you'll need to remove it from the other project first. Custom domains are unique to single projects to avoid routing conflicts.

Domain status shows Offline

If your domain shows 'Offline,' your DNS A record may be incorrect or deleted. Verify the record points to Lovable's exact IP, then refresh the page. If using Cloudflare, disable proxy on the A record. Wait for DNS to propagate (up to 72 hours). If still offline after 72 hours, contact [email protected].

Where can I see my connected domains?

You can view all connected domains in Project Settings → Domains (or Publishing settings). The list shows your primary domain, connected subdomains, and the default Lovable subdomain (xxx.lovable.app). You can manage, remove, or update domains from this interface.

Will a custom domain help my site rank better?

A custom domain doesn't directly boost rankings, but it improves professionalism and brand credibility, which can indirectly help. Avoid using free subdomains for serious projects. Lovable supports custom domains (requires paid plan). Set up properly with DNS verification and SSL/TLS (auto-provided via Let's Encrypt). Focus on content quality and backlinks; they matter more than the domain itself.

Will connecting a custom domain affect my SEO?

Connecting a custom domain can improve SEO because it gives you a branded, memorable URL. To maximize SEO, verify your domain in Google Search Console, create a sitemap.xml in the /public folder, and customize meta tags. Lovable provides basic meta tags by default, but review and update them for better search visibility.
